How to specify training rooms, quiet pods, and enclosures
Training rooms are 12' x 20' or 16' x 20' with a whiteboard wall, a display and A/V pre-wire, and sound-rated panels. Quiet pods are 4' x 6' or 6' x 8' with sealed doors, ventilation, and power and data. Acoustic enclosures are built to the machine footprint with an absorptive inner face, sealed personnel and service doors, viewing windows, and silenced ventilation sized to the heat load.
Sound performance is set by the panel: standard panels give a useful reduction; sound-rated panels with an absorptive face give more. Tell us the noise you are trying to keep out or in and we specify the panel rather than quoting a rating from a catalog.
Before you ask for a quote, know:
- Seats, or people, or the machine footprint and its heat load
- Noise goal: what you are keeping in or out
- Access: service doors, removable panels, viewing windows
- Power, data, and A/V needs
Questions buyers ask
- What is an STC rating?
- Sound Transmission Class is a lab rating of how much airborne sound a wall assembly blocks. Higher is better. Field performance depends on doors, seals, and openings, which is why we specify the whole room, not just a panel.
- Can an enclosure be opened for maintenance?
- Yes. Removable panels, double doors, and roof sections are standard options, and the enclosure is laid out around the maintenance access points.
