About warehouse guardrail
Industrial guardrail is a modular system of steel posts and corrugated or tubular rails that protects pedestrian aisles, dock doors, rack ends, electrical panels, and machinery from lift-truck impact. It is a recognized engineering control under OSHA's walking-working surfaces rules and a standard line in most plant safety budgets.
Systems are specified by rail height and rail count. Single-rail at 18 inches stops a forklift's counterweight and forks; double-rail at 42 inches also serves as a pedestrian handrail and meets typical fall-protection height for elevated walkways. Standard rail lengths run from 2 to 10 feet so runs can be laid out from a plan without cutting. Posts bolt to the slab; lift-out and drop-in posts create removable openings for occasional access.
