How to specify walkway kits and charging bays
Walkway kits are laid out from your plan: the route, the crossings, and the blind corners. Charging bay kits are sized to the number of charging positions and the battery chemistry, with the barrier protecting each charger from the trucks that plug into it.
Both are quoted as line items so you can see what each piece does and phase the work.
Before you ask for a quote, know:
- Route length, crossings, and corners for a walkway
- Charging positions and battery chemistry for a charging bay
- Whether proximity warning or interlocks are wanted
Questions buyers ask
- Is floor tape enough for a walkway?
- Marking tells people where to walk; it does not stop a lift truck. Where the route runs beside forklift traffic, a barrier is the control that prevents the injury.
- What is different about lithium charging areas?
- Lithium packs do not off-gas hydrogen like lead-acid, but they need clearances, a fire plan, and rated storage for packs not on the truck. Fire codes and insurers are increasingly specific about this; we quote to the requirements your EHS lead confirms.
