A workbench is a welded steel frame with a top rated for what sits on it, from 1,000 to 5,000 pounds, fitted with the riser, lighting, drawers, and power the station needs. A packing station is a sit-stand bench arranged around the packing process: boxes, tape, void fill, scale, label printer, and monitor within reach.

How to specify workbenches and packing stations
Tops set the use: 12-gauge steel for maintenance and heavy assembly, laminate or ESD laminate for electronics, butcher block for general assembly, stainless for wash-down. Benches ship knocked down and assemble with the included hardware. Adjustable-height legs or electric sit-stand frames let one bench serve several people.
Packing stations are specified by the order profile: box sizes, tape and label positions, scale cutout, bag and box dispensers, and a monitor arm. Electric adjustment is worth it where several packers share a station across shifts.

- What load rating should a workbench have?
- Standard industrial benches carry 1,000 to 3,000 pounds uniformly distributed; heavy-duty benches go to 5,000 pounds or more. A vise or press mounted on the bench changes the frame, so say so.
